About me
Hi, I’m Tessa.
The Holo grew out of a long-standing curiosity about how people reconnect with themselves, with one another, with creativity, and with the natural world. My background moves between environmental education, community building, wellness, facilitation, operations, and ritual, and the thread running through all of it is care.
My work is not about performing wellness perfectly. It is about creating spaces where you can slow down enough to notice what you need, become curious about yourself, and reconnect with the practices that make life feel more grounded, meaningful, playful, and alive.
I am not here as someone with all the answers. I am a facilitator, practitioner, and educator who has spent years in classrooms, on trails, in retreat spaces, and in the middle of vibrant festivals, learning what genuinely helps people come home to themselves.
What I practice
Practices I hold, and how I hold them.
Everything is invitational and consent-based. You are always welcome to ask questions, opt out of anything, or simply rest.
Reiki
Energy work and grounding, offered in consent-based spaces and paced to what your nervous system is actually asking for.
Tarot
The cards as a tool for reflection rather than prediction. Intuition, archetype, storytelling, and honest personal inquiry.
Breathwork & grounding
Simple practices that respect the pace of your nervous system, woven into sessions and gatherings. Accessible, repeatable, and yours to keep.
Nature bathing & nature connection
Sensory invitations, guided meditation, journaling, poetry, creative reflection, reciprocity, and community circles.
Ritual & earth-connected practice
Elemental work, plant allies, herbal traditions, archetypes, and runes, approached with curiosity, respect, and no pressure to believe anything.
Gatherings & festival care spaces
Facilitation and behind-the-scenes care for retreats and immersive gatherings, plus interactive self-care spaces at music and arts festivals.
Where the grounding comes from.
My academic background shapes how I talk about nature, care, behaviour, community, sustainability, and experiential learning. It also keeps me careful about the difference between what is genuinely supportive and what is simply well marketed.
Alongside facilitation, I have spent years on the practical side of experiences: schedules, guest experience, safety practices, training, supplies, and the many small logistics that let a gathering feel thoughtful and well held. That part is less romantic, and it is a large part of why The Holo’s spaces feel cared for.

Outside
Nature is not a wellness tool. It is a relationship.
Hiking, backpacking, camping, and travelling are how I learn about myself and keep stretching the edges of what I believe I am capable of. Long days on trail, carrying what I need on my back, sleeping outside, and experiencing a landscape slowly rather than passing through it.
The photo above was taken at the top of a mountain peak on the Sunshine Coast. It holds the summit, but it also holds the preparation, uncertainty, exhaustion, and self-trust that got me there.
Long days on trail
Backpacking and hiking sections of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast Trail, including some long climbs to the peaks above it.
Solo & shared miles
Multi-day backcountry travel on my own, and many kilometres walked with people I love.
Travel as learning
Seeking experiences that offer connection to people, culture, landscape, and different ways of living.
Still learning
Growth can also mean resting, changing your mind, becoming more playful, or asking better questions.
Say hello
Questions are genuinely welcome.
If something here resonates, whether it is a practice, a retreat, a trail, or a question you are not quite sure how to ask, the form above is the easiest way to reach me.
